If he manages to lose the Republican nomination, and then decides to run as an Independent, The Donald is going to give Jeb Bush a run for his money. For the first time an Independent might collect more votes than a party candidate. The thing about running as an Independent is you don't have to be part of debates, you don't have to master the issues, you can just give speeches and make lightweight media appearances.
The Donald has been seen uncomfortable with question answer sessions. As in, why me?
Never for one second think Donald Trump is stupid. He did not become a billionaire without doing some strategic thinking on the side. He is smart, that is precisely why he picked the party of stupid. He knows it will be easier to shine.
Only a few years back The Donald hosted Gaddafi on his property, but we are not going to talk about that. I would not want to hurt him politically.
All that Climate Change denying the Republicans did over the years, all that is now going to come to haunt them.
And to think The Donald used to be an Independent, then he realized all the fun that is to be had is in the Republican Party. Just you watch!
I don't know how The Donald feels about the Democrats in the race, but I happen to think they are too wonky! Nerds! Too many words. Too many books. Not enough pictures.
I think the 2016 race is going to be memorable, and The Trump is one of the reasons why. His out of the box hair is, quite literally, symbolic of his out of the box thinking. Republicans in Alabama don't know what just hit them.
No one is going to complain about there being too many debates. The refrain might be, not enough debates! There is sooooo much to talk about. The country's future is at stake, for Chrissake!
Donald Trump is a serious dude who just happens to have a sense of humor. Some people mistake his sense of humor and don't take him seriously.
Memo to Dems: The Donald is a gift that keeps giving.
Hillary is in a very strong position, inside the party, and the country, but I expect this race to be very real. The US presidential election is no shoo-in, never has been, never will be.
A great thing would be the unwise Bush tax cuts that should never have been implemented - I am for tax cuts that are paid for, not tax cuts that are paid for with money borrowed from the Chinese - would go away without the Republicans having to agree to the idea. They get to tell their base, we did not do it, the whole thing fell off the cliff, don't blame us.
A major cut in defense spending is long overdue. American leaders need to be more proactive about spreading democracy globally and about bringing forth rule of law between nations. Those steps allow America to bring down its defense spending by a large margin. Bring it down to $1 from $4. But cutting defense spending is politically unpopular. So letting some of it fall off the cliff might be smart politics. Look we tried, the thing fell off the cliff.
It is hard for Democrats to even think in terms of restructuring the entitlement programs. But some restructuring is necessary. The cliff can help you do that. It can be a huge political help.
Go over the cliff. Then close a trillion dollars in loopholes. Then bring about a second stimulus. I say a trillion dollars. Spend half of it to bring forth gigabit wireless broadband to every human being on the planet. Let there be light.
If you go over the cliff and don't bring a second stimulus, you are staring at a recession. But the stimulus is a one time thing. All the savings from going over the cliff help bring down the deficit and the debt in the subsequent years.

I maintain the hunger of someone who was forced to skip the victory parties of June 2008 and November 2008, and felt Inauguration 2009 simply pass him by. I missed the celebrations. I stayed hungry.
I am going to bring that hunger to the table for Barack all over again.
I stopped being a Democrat. I became an Independent. I am an Independent for Barack. And I am going to be there for him.
